 Fuel Injector Connectors

• Jetronic (EV1) – The classic Bosch-style connector used in many early fuel injection systems

• USCAR (EV6) – A modern, compact connector widely used in newer vehicles and performance applications

Fuel Injector Sizing Guide

Choosing the right injector size is critical to achieving optimal engine performance. The flow rate required depends on several key factors, including:

• Engine Horsepower (measured or estimated)

• Fuel Pressure

• Number of Injectors

• Injector Duty Cycle (typically ~80%)

• BSFC (Brake-Specific Fuel Consumption) – The amount of fuel (in lb/hr) needed to produce one horsepower for one hour

Basic Formula:
Injector Size (lb/hr) = (Horsepower × BSFC) / (Number of Injectors × Duty Cycle)

Typical BSFC Values:

• Naturally Aspirated: 0.45–0.55 lb/hp/hr

• Turbocharged or Supercharged: 0.60–0.75 lb/hp/hr
