What do we do?
At CPR Racing, here’s what we do when testing and cleaning your injectors:
- We subject your injector to RPM ranging from 500 to 10,000 to test its performance and resilience.
- We perform a back flush on the injector.
- We use ultrasound technology for further cleaning.
- If your injector has a filter, we remove it and replace it with a new one. In cases where the injector doesn’t have a filter, we perform a back flush instead.
- A resistance test is conducted to ensure the injector meets the OEM specifications.
- You will receive test results both before and after our cleaning and testing processes.
- If any injector fails to meet the OEM specifications and doesn’t flow properly, we offer to sell you a new one.
How do you know if your injectors need cleaning?
Vessel symptoms of dirty fuel injectors may include:
- Hard starting
- Rough idle
- Wide-open throttle “WOT” hesitation
- Pre-ignition (sometimes heard backfire in the intake)
- Poor overall performance
- Decreased gas mileage
Performance of the vessel engine:
- Lean
- White on your spark plug
- No “WOT” fall on its face
What do we do when we receive your fuel injectors?
STEP 1: Testing
- Conduct inventory of injectors received
- Conduct visual inspection of any missing and/or damaged parts
- Run a full auto test (automatic diagnostics)
- Observe spray pattern
- Check the factory flow rate and confirm the data to OEM standards by Bosch
- Coil test (Ohm testing)
- Measurement of flow rate
- Inspect flow data
- Inspect for leakage and cracks
- Now we have your baseline before rebuilding
STEP 2: Cleaning
- Clean outside surface of injectors
- Remove fuel filter basket and place in Ultrasonic Bath (UB)
- Ultrasonic bath:
- A process that uses ultrasound usually from 20–400kHz an appropriate cleaning solvent to clean fuel injector. Cleaning normally lasts between 20 minutes, E85, and others will exceed 90 minutes or more.
After UB, begin the test:
- Re-flow injectors for a new baseline
- Get flow data with a clean fuel injector
- Install CPR RACING new high flow filter basket
- Look at the spray pattern and open and close the spray pattern
STEP 3: Final Test
- Flow Test again to get data
- Measurement to LBS and/or CC
- Collect data input in CPR RACING flow sheet
